This week in our reading and discussions, we learned the importance of internet marketing and metrics to follow in measuring the successes and changes which may need to be implemented in order to succeed and reach a maximum amount of views, hits and interest. We live in a social media world, where H. James Harrington once said, “Measurement is the first step that leads to control and, eventually, to improvement” (Caik, K. 2012). Metrics indicate the number of viewers to your site, and how the viewers are utilizing your content, as well as areas which need to be re-worked. There are ways in evaluating and measuring metrics such as; traffic and how many viewers have visited your site. Are they remaining on your site or “bouncing” off quickly. Your content must catch the viewers and keep them on your site. How often is your page being used from a search engine, such as Google or Bing?
